An urgent plea for action to save Hong Kong

Leaders of the free world, you are witnessing the brutal repression of Hong Kong by the totalitarian China. Hong Kong was once a thriving business and financial centre, where the 7.5 million people enjoyed, under the promise of "one country two systems", freedom and the rule of law. This changed abruptly in mid-2019. And in just over a year, Hong Kong has descended into a thuggish police state, governed by a cold-blooded leader armed with a harsh national security law imposed by Beijing. Hong Kong's democratic institutions, education system, the media, and the judiciary are crumbling. And democracy activists are being thrown to jail one by one.

History will judge you harshly if you do nothing and allow these to perpetuate right before your eyes. And if China succeeds in destroying Hong Kong, others will become targets, until eventually the whole free world will have to kneel before this totalitarian regime. Learn from history, I urge you, and do not let anything like the rise of the Nazis or the Soviets to repeat itself. Push back China and save Hong Kong, before it is too late.
