酒狂是古琴名曲之一，我也非常愛聽（有張子謙，龔一，姚炳炎三個版本）。不過，古琴下的酒狂，其實大都不很“狂”。網上這個古琴+擊缶的版本，比較特別，很有“動感”：

網友W Wong好介紹，一聽難忘，已經Amazon的Market Place下單，希望可在聖誕前收到送給自己的禮物。目前，只能靠Youtube解渴（Aria + Variations 1-3，音質較差。但起碼知道，Kempff的版本，其實只是Aria跟其他的大不同）：

路經香港，買了幾張CD，其中之一，是我的第12張Goldberg Variations，由Dmitry Sitkovetsky改編給String Trio彈奏。彈奏者為Julian Rachlin，Nobuko Imai和Mischa Maisky。

- 享受過Tomine的Summer Blonde後，從圖書館借來他另一本都市感情漫畫Shortcomings，仍有驚喜。
- 簡介：Ben Tanaka has problems. In addition to being rampantly critical, sarcastic, and insensitive, his long–term relationship is awash in turmoil. His girlfriend, Miko Hayashi, suspects that Ben has a wandering eye, and more to the point, it's wandering in the direction of white women. This accusation (and its various implications) becomes the subject of heated, spiralling debate, setting in motion a story that pits California against New York, devotion against desire, and trust against truth.

Terence Kealey Sex, Science and Profits

- 作者（一位上至天文下至地理一律通曉的clinical biochemist和大學校長）認為，科學推動科技發展帶來財富，但科學研究的投資，不必來自政府。
- 從人類蠻荒時期，到Henry the Navigator開拓繞過非洲南端到達印度，打破阿拉伯和意大利在香料貿易上的壟斷，令葡萄牙富甲天下，到現今各國政府競相支持科研發展，作者提出不少很有爭議很有趣味的見解。值得一讀。
- 可惜作者文筆普通，厚厚的書結構也比較鬆散。

裴在美 台北的美麗和憂傷

- 野心不少火候不足。
- 曾堯角落：藍儂不曾愛過蜜雪兒

石田衣良 不眠的真珠

- 姐弟戀故事。開始得不錯，但越來越老套，全在意料之中。
- 平庸的溫馨結局。很適合拍成商業電影。

音樂方面，我認為John Lennon是天才，Paul McCartney是歌匠。藍儂不愛蜜雪兒，我也不愛。

不過，若論音樂天才，又有誰能跟J. S. Bach相提並論？

Michael Jackson獲頒今屆Grammy“終生成就獎”，傳媒大肆報導。我欣賞的Leonard Cohen同年獲同一殊榮似乎比較少人知曉。

網友Ronja說Mikhail Pletnev是她最愛的鋼琴家，聽他的C.P.E. Bach聽得淚流滿面。我草草寫了兩句留言-“Pletnev我也頗喜歡，但他的CPEBach...”，不清不楚的。其實，問題不在Pletnev，而是個人認為C.P.E. Bach的音樂平凡得很。聽整張CD的Sonatas & Rondos，實在很悶。同樣是Pletnev，聽他彈後生半世紀的Mozart（其實兩人卒年相去不遠）Sonatas，自成一格，享受得多了。

十七世紀的耳朵

我認了，我沒有十七世紀的耳朵。

Scott Ross的Bach Goldberg Variations（曾堯角落：第11張Goldberg Variations）完整地聽了三遍，每天一遍，始終無法接受。一本正經地聽，心煩意亂。心不在焉地聽，好受一點，但又意義盡失。

這不是Scott Ross的問題，而是我對大鍵琴作為獨奏樂器聽不入耳（而且是連續地聽近80分鐘！）。

可會有一天大鍵琴的叮叮蹬蹬在我耳中忽然變成天籟？

International dance sensation Marie Chouinard's new work Body Remix / Goldberg Variations is a powerful contemporary ballet in two acts.

The company of ten dancers creates a spellbinding performance in response to Johann Sebastian Bach's Goldberg Variations by using different devices including crutches, rope, prostheses and harnesses.

The use of accessories gives rise to unusual shapes, precise gestures and playful movements as the dancers test the limits of physical freedom and echo the human condition through subtle, extravagant, sumptuous and wild choreography.

Musically, it features Variations 5, 6 and 8 from Bach's Goldberg Variations (played by Louis Dufort) plus "vocal extracts of Glenn Gould"!

第11張 Goldberg Variations

今天剛收到Amazon UK的郵遞，是1張CD和2張DVD。

CD是Scott Ross的Bach Goldberg Variations (1988年版) + Frescobaldi Toccatas。

DVD則是No Direction Home - Bob Dylan和Leonard Cohen - I'm Your Man。

網上購買外文書籍和影音，我一向光顧Amazon US，原因簡單：定價低，郵費低。但網友Ronja極力推薦的Scott Ross版Goldberg Variations，Amazon US偏偏缺貨，偶然發現Amazon UK的定價也不太差，於是首次跟Amazon UK打交道。

No Direction Home已看了兩次（見曾堯角落：重新認識Bob Dylan），今次買來收藏。至於I'm Your Man，皆因我是Leonard Cohen的忠實擁躉（見曾堯角落：I'm Your Man及He's their man）。

這張Scott Ross，是我的第11張Goldberg Variations（原有的10張，見曾堯角落：Goldberg Variations by Tatiana Nikolayeva）。我對古典音樂認識有限，CD收藏不多，對版本搜集沒大興趣，所以在CD架上，同一曲目，有兩三個不同版本的，已是絕無僅有。但偏偏Goldberg Variations版本收藏越來越多，可知它在我心中的位置。

我對Ronja說，“對harpsichord始終有點怕，叮叮蹬蹬的，聽得人心煩意亂”。

至於Scott Ross的這個harpsichord版本，會否令我修正成見？容後再談。

電視於除夕日一病不起，已送院搶救。無影可觀。

最近都在聽Tatiana Nikolayeva的Goldberg Variations。一位愛讀紅樓夢的網友原來也愛郭德堡變奏曲，尤其鐘愛Uri Caine的版本。

我沒有Uri Caine的Goldberg Variations，但有他的Diabelli Variations。初聽不太能接受，打進冷宮，如今對它已印象模糊。近日拿來再聽，感覺和以前一樣。

樂迷對Uri Caine，一向愛憎分明。截至今天，我仍是站在憎的一邊。

明明告訴自己，跟紅頂白，該是讀Ian McEwan的Atonement的時候了。但人懶，沒辦法。結果讀了一本赤川次郎（兩小時內完成），一本Anne Fadiman的Ex Libris: Confessions of a Common Reader。
