Capitalism: A Ghost Story

- Capitalism: A Ghost Story, by Arundhati Roy (author of Booker Prize winning novel The God of Small Things)

Roy's impassioned condemnation of Capitalism, Indian-style.

I wouldn't recommend this book, which is a slim but dense polemic against "Capitalist" Indian political economy. Not that what she wrote was worthless. Indian politics and society are rotten to the core, probably worse than its even more populous neighbour.

But with a book long on accusations but short on reasoning, I don't think it could persuade any readers, except, of course, those who have already been "converted" but still feen the need to be preached from time to time.
