Russian director Andrey Zvyagintsev made a stunning debut in his 2003 film Vozvrashcheniye (The Return).
The father reappears unexpectedly after a 12 years absence and takes Andrej and Ivan, who hardly know him, to a fishing trip ... Hauntingly sombre coming-of-age tale, with just the bare bones of a mystery plot.
