With the tag line "We heard you" on its web page, Microsoft has released RC1 of Internet Explorer 7 for installation, which I did yesterday.
From the perpsective of an ordinary browser user, I would have to say that with this version, IE has become very similar to Firefox (my default browser) in terms of functionality. Most of the special features of Firefox which I find extremely useful are now available in IE. The include tabbed browsing, page zoom and multiple search engines. The only exception is extensions.
Would I change back to IE? Microsfot may have heard and addressed my complaints, but I am afraid it is too late. There is simply no compelling reason why I should switch back.
