DW這篇（及其它眾多媒體）報導，很不幸，捉錯用神，將李光耀女兒李顯龍妹妹李瑋玲（Lee Wei Ling），批評習近平反腐「看似在揪出貪官，但其實是以自己人取代這些職位」（來自Lee Wei Ling臉書頁，原文：Xu is playing a game where he "appears to weed out the corrupts n replace we his own people），聯繫到新加坡近期跟中國交惡。
新加坡跟中國交惡是事實。但她這段文字是為新加坡出頭，評擊中國嗎？沒那麼簡單！
如果沒忘記去年中李瑋玲嚴詞痛斥哥哥的話，就能看到她這回發炮的意義：在新加坡權力圈外，甚少公開評論時事的李瑋玲，非常痛恨那些通過排除異己安插自己人來建立或鞏固“皇朝”的國家領導人，包括習近平，也包括她自己的哥哥。

李瑋玲指責兄長新加坡總理李顯龍，「對濫用職權無所顧忌，在李光耀去世僅一年後就搞出這麼個紀念名堂來... 假若當局就是想弄出個朝廷來的話，我作為李光耀的女兒，絕不允許李光耀的名字被一個不孝之子玷污。」（原文："has no qualms abusing his power to have a commemoration just one year after LKY died... if the power that be wants to establish a dynasty, LKY's daughter will not allow LKY's name to be sullied by a dishonourable son."），李顯龍發表聲明回應，認為妹妹的指稱「完全不屬實」。
另，李瑋玲不滿的，不單哥哥李顯龍，還包括嫂嫂，淡馬錫控股執行長何晶。2016-9-25臉書帖：
I have set up a new Facebook account which is under the name Wei Ling Lee. Future posts will only be in this new account on which no one else can write anything. When I hv news I will post on Wei Ling Lee and open to public to follow. I am doing this as no public media dares to disobey Hsien Loong and Ho Ching's commands.
